About The Austin Emerging 100

As you can imagine, it was extremely hard to narrow down the list to only 100 companies. Companies that you won't find here, but we hope to see someday, are still in the "two guys in a garage" phase. We call them pre-emerging. You also won't find companies that are well past the emerging stage and are well into the growth phase. Companies like Buffalo Technology, Zilliant, Motion Computing, and NetQoS are no longer emerging in our opinion. We also did not list companies that are really services organizations with a very small technology component.
